Today - Complete Five by Five Project
Your job today is to create a 25 second video (exactly 25 seconds!) made up of 5 shots that are exactly 5 seconds each. You will add a 5 second title screen and a 5 second credits screen for a total of 35 seconds.

Ripple Edits
Slip and Slide Edits

Step 1: Select a theme - what is the story you are going to tell? Will it be serious, informative, funny????
Step 2: Create a shot list - describe the five different shots you will take and explain how each shot adds to the storyline
Stop - you must show me your storyline and shot list BEFORE you begin shooting.
Step 3: Take the shots - make sure they are LONGER than 5 seconds each - ask your instructor for the shooting tip related to shot length
Step 4: Upload your video clips to FCP.
Step 5: Use FCP to edit the shots . Each person in the group will edit their own shots.
Step 6: Add appropriate music to your video.
Step 7: Change to format of your video to:
Codec: H.264
Format: 720p HD
Resolution: 960x720
Use the following instructions to change these settings for your project.
Step 8: Share the FCP video and save it in your Movies folder.
How to Export your Video and submit it to Google classroom
Step 9: Upload your movie file to your Google drive and then submit to the 5 X 5 Project on Google classroom.

Importing clips - File > Import > Media or click on the down arrow.
Properly removing the memory card - drag the memory card icon to the trash, once the icon disappears you can remove it from the computer. If a warning message says it is still in use then close FCP and try again.
Creating a New Project - File > New Project
Adding clips to your project - just drag the clip to the main storyline

Changing the duration of your clip, adding a title, adding credits, adding music.

Changing clip content and position: Performing Slip and Slide edits

Use the clips that you took as a group to create your first edited video.

Exporting your video - be sure you have the correct settings:
Codec:
 H.264
Format: 720p HD
Resolution: 960x720
