When a template is used certain
parts of the page cannot be changed, these are fixed and can only be
changed by changing the template itself. The other parts of a template
that can be changed are known as editable regions.
Each editable region in a template must have a unique name.
1. Click on the Template tab in
the Insert panel. What are the seven buttons that
are displayed?
2. Place your cursor in the heading
"Spotlight on [name of state park]". Select the <h2>
tag that is displayed on the tag selector display. The entire line should
be selected. Now click on the Editable Region
button on the Templates tab of the Insert panel.
3. When the editable region dialogue
box appears type in "park_name"
as the name for this region. Click OK.
4. Repeat this process for the
next line "Add short description of park" but select the <p>
tag. Give this editable region the following name "park_description".
Click OK.
5. Click in the left cell of the
first table. Click on the <table> tag in the tag selector. Make
this an editable region named "parks_images".
Click OK.
6. Repeat this for the second table
giving the editable region a name of "links".
Click OK and save your template.
