Sequoia - The Place to Be

You have been hired by the principal of Sequoia High School to create a small web site that advertises the things that make Sequoia a great place to be. What are the things that make students want to come to Sequoia? What does Sequoia offer that other schools do not? Your target audience are the 8th grade students and their parents who must decide what high school to attend. Remember your goal is to please your client so keep this in mind as you develop your web site.

Step 1: Map out on paper how you will design your web site. Create thumbnail sketches of each page indicating the content of each page and where they will link to. Will certain parts of each page be the same in order to tie the entire site together? Will there be a reoccurring theme that weaves throughout the entire site? What about navigation within the site, will you use a navigation bar or something similar? Each student will present their "draft" to the instructor before begriming this project.

Step 2: Get Organized - Create folders to help organize your site. Your main folder will be called sequoiahsxx where the xx represents your initials. You will need at least one sub folder for graphics. ALL web pages, graphics and resources used for this web site MUST be in the sequoiahsxx folder or sub folders.

Step 3: Begin creating your web pages. All web pages must be created from scratch. Start with the index page and work through your site from there. You will have to include original photos that you take of the campus in your project.
