Setting Up Your Own FREE Web Site

 

Here are the steps to set up your own free web site.
NOTE: If you arleady have your own web site you may skip these steps.

1. Go to www.150m.com and click on Free Sign Up.

2. Click on Signup Now! and proceed with the registration. You will choose Choice 1 - Subdomain Hosting. Type in the name that will represent your web site. Do NOT use spaces or unusual characters. Write down the name you use, you will need this information later.

3. On the next page you must select the type of account you want. Select Plan #1 the Free one and click on Continue with signup. mplete this page using your email address but use Sequoia High School's address instead of your home address. 1201 Brewster Ave., Redwood City, CA 94062.

4. Complete the signup page using your email address but use Sequoia High School's address instead of your home address: 1201 Brewster Ave., Redwood City, CA 94062. Be sure to WRITE DOWN your password so you do not forget it. Do NOT select any of the areas of interest. Fill in the validation code at the bottom of the page and then click on the Create your Account button.

5. Cancel out of the next page and then type in the address of your new web site. It should be something like www.__________.150m.com. When you type in the address you should get a page that says there is not home page for this web site yet. What you need next is to create an index.htm page for your site and then upload it using FTP.

6. Now you are ready to set-up your FTP client. Return to the previous page where you will find the instructions for downloading and setting up your FTP client.
