Lesson 7 - Creating Buttons

Work through lesson 7 - Creating Buttons and answer the following questions as you work through the chapter.

1. How do you import a sequence of photos? What makes a group of photos a sequence?

2. What are the four frames that make up every flash button?

3. If the sounds are not in your library go to this link to learn how to get the sounds needed. Three changes to these instructions, first you must log in as comprep with a password of comp to this workstation (NOT WIN2KLAB) in order to install the sounds. Second your macromedia files are found on the D: drive not the C: drive so the path to your library files will be:

D:\Program Files\Macromedia\Flash MX 2004\en\First Run\Libraries\
(note: you will need to create the Libraries folder in the first run directory)

D:\Documents and Settings\All USERS\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash MX 2004\en\Configuration\Libraries
(note: you will need to create the Libraries folder in the Configuration directory)

NOTE: The Application Data is a hidden file so once you are in the All Users folder you will need to go to Tools > Folder Options > View and click on the Show Hidden Files and Folders. You should now be able to see the Application Data folder.

The second note is that you will need to unzip the files into this directory. The file you download is a compressed file.

4. Use this same site to find out how you import sounds into flash. What types of sound files can you import?

5. Search the web to find some sound files that you might want to incorporate into flash animations. List the URL for the site where you found the sounds you were interested in.

You may request the use of headphones anytime you are working with sounds in flash. Please do not request headphones to listen to music or other distractions.
