Lesson 5 - Adding Text and Navigation

Work through lesson 5 - Adding Text and Navigation to the Home Page and answer the following questions as you work through the chapter.
NOTE: There are some minor mistakes and omissions in the directions so don't be afraid to look for other ways to accomplish the same task. For example, Step 5.1 step 3 says to open the Insert menu and click Layer but layer is found in the Insert > Timeline > Layer (you must open the timeline option) You can also right click on any layer and then select Insert Layer.

1. Summarize the hints for working with the Text tool found on page 46.

2. What can you do to prevent text from resizing in different browsers? (page 49 Important)

3. Step 16 of 5.1 - If you cannot see the images then move your background layer to the bottom of the layer list. Remember the layers at the top of the list are also on the top of the other layers on the stage.

4. Step 7 of 5.2 - If the Advanced option is not visible be sure you are in Scene 1. If you need help here ask your neighbor or instructor.

5. What is the difference between the controls on the left side of the Advanced Effect dialog box and those on the right?

6. Step 5.3 - Why do buttons in flash all have four frames? Explain what each frame is for.

 7. Step 5.7 - Where do you go to elongate text?

8. Show your completed layout to your instructor for teacher check.__________
