Career Project Instructions

Develop a website in GoLive for your career project, using the information from the DeVry Institute Quiz, the Princeton Review Quiz, the Work Interest Quiz, and other research. The website should include at least 7 web pages (see specifics below): This project is worth 150 points.

Include the following:		Points
1.	A home page with the title of your project and links to your other pages. You may use buttons or the navibar that you create as a component. Include your name, name of the course, and date at the bottom of the page. You may include a brief paragraph or graphic about your project.	10
2.	Use Stationery and a Components navibar on all of your pages to make them uniform. Remember the Design Principles and use them on your pages.	15
3.	A page on the DeVry Institute quizzes. You should list your 2 highest natural intelligences, your personality style and the careers associated with your results.	10
4.	A page on the Princeton Review Quiz that explains your Interest Color and the interests and activities it represents; your Usual Style Color and the interests and activities it represents; and a list of Careers associated with your results.. Use bulleted lists/tables to organize the lists. For example: My interest color is red. People with red interests like job Red interests include: responsibilities/occupations that are: Ÿ building Ÿ active Ÿ implementing Ÿ hands-on Ÿ organizing	20
5.	A page on the Work Interest Quiz that lists the 2 types of activities that interest you (and something about the activities) and a few careers from the list.	10
6.	For two careers find the following information: Ÿ Description of what you do in this career Ÿ Quality of Life Ÿ Job Outlook Ÿ Salary range Ÿ College Majors Ÿ Other Information  This information can be found on the Princeton Review Site or the Job Outlook Handbook site.              One career must be related to this class. The other one may be the result of one of the quizzes or one that you looked up.	20
7.	A slide about the college/trade school that you researched. Name of the school, etc. What classes will you need to take? How many units do you need to complete? What will the cost be? Include the URL to the college as a link.	20
8.	Evaluate the results. Did you learn anything? Were the results of the quizzes similar? Were the results of these quizzes accurate? How can you learn more about the careers in which you have interest?	10
9.	Include relevant graphics on at least two web pages. Include Alt text that displays the URL of the page where you got the graphic.	10
10.	Resources/bibliography page – list all of the URLs and the name of the sites. Link the URLs to the pages. An example: “TPR Career Quiz.” The Princeton Review. 6 February 2003. <http://www.review.com>.	10
11.	Check your spelling and grammar. You can copy and paste sections of your text into Microsoft Word to check the spelling.	5
