Our lab has been set-up with a dedicated workgroup server in order for it to be more stable and for you to be able to save to the server rather than a floppy disk.

Here's how you log into the server from any computer in this lab:

1. When your computer starts up, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE
2. Your user name is all LOWER CASE - your last name followed by your first initial(example: My user name would be dodgec)
3. Your password is your six-digit student number (for adults it is your phone number)
4. Be sure the domain is win2klab
5. Next, click on Log In, and you are ready to work.

Saving files on the server:

• When you log into the server you are automatically connected to your home drive (h:) which is located on the win2kserver. All files should be saved on your h: drive.
• When you open the save window you will see "Save In:" at the top of the window. Choose the h: drive from this window and then your folder which has the same name as your login name.
• Enter the filename and click on Save

Saving files on a diskette:

• Check the "Save In:" area to be sure it displays "3 1/2 Floppy [A]"
  
• Enter the filename in the filename area
• Click on Save
