Welcome to the Introduction to Java course. This course lays the foundation for students with little or no programming experience to learn the Java programming language. The course introduces fundamental programming concepts and terminology in an easy, engaging manner. Students will fulfill the district technology requirement by successfully completing this course.
The following links will provide you with
more information regarding the course.
Course
Syllabus - This will provide you with the basic information about
the class
Grades - You may view your student's grade at any time from school web site. If students fall behind because of excused absences they must come in
before school (I usually arrive by 7:30 am), during lunch or after school
to catch up. Making up assignments is not a problem but students must
come into the lab to make up the work.
Attendance - Attendance is one of the factors affecting a student's grade in
this class. You may check your student's attendance at any time using
the school web site.
Books - Go to https://academy.oracle.com/ to see the curriculum.
Calendar - The calendar will also give
you and idea of the type of things that we do in class. We typically spend
one day a week in the lab putting into practice what has been learned
in the classroom. If students forget what the homework was for the class
they can always check the web site.
Sequoia
High School Web Site - check this site for the yearly calendar,
bell schedule, daily announcements, teacher contact information and
much more.
