Continue work on Perfect PC project.
Add a Power Supply (if it did not come with your case) and a Processor
Things to consider when purchasing a processor:
- Is it going to be an Intel or AMD processor? AMD CPUs are typically less expensive than Intel ones.
- If it is a boxed version it will probably come with a heatsink and fan, check to be sure it does if not you will need to purchase a heatsink and fan.
- How many cores will your processor have? Dual core is the norm, Quad and 6 core are performance CPUs but they come at a higher cost.
- What type of socket will your motherboard have? This will be determined by the CPU so be sure to take note of the socket type.
- Consider getting a Motherboard-CPU Combo kit, you get both the CPU and MB for a cheaper price. If you are not too particular as to your MB needs this may work, typically the MB is a cheap one in these types of deals but if if has what you need if may be a better deal.
Refer to the Description of the Project page for details.
