Career Project Instructions
Develop a Power Point slide presentation for your career project, using the information from the
Princeton Review Quiz and the Work Interest Quiz. These quizzes are accessible from http://www.sequoiahs.org/programs/business/careers.html. The presentation should include at least 10 slides (see specifics below): This project is worth 150 points.

Be sure to save your project on the server and NOT on the desktop.

 
How you will be graded
Points
1.

Title slide with the title of your presentation, your name, Computer Repair, and the date. Include an appropriate graphic. You may include a brief paragraph and a graphic on this slide

2.

Several slides on the Princeton Review Quiz that explain(s) your Interest
Color and your Usual Color Style and the interests and activities that they represent. Include a page that lists 10 careers that fit your colors.
Use bulleted lists for the interests and activities.
For example:
My interest color is blue.
People with blue interests like:

  • creative, thoughtful, quiet activities
  • designing, writing, editing, composing

Personal response - indicate if the results of your quiz were accurate, did the description fit you? Are the suggested careers ones that might interest you? Give examples from the survey that support your response.

MyFuture.com Work Interest Quiz results. Several pages that list the results of your quiz with a description of each characteristic and suggested careers. For example if you are Realistic include a description of this trait as well as some of the suggested careers for people with this characteristic.

Personal response - indicate if the results of your quiz were accurate, did the description fit you? Are the suggested careers ones that might interest you? Give examples from the survey that support your response.

Third interest quiz of your choice, use the same layout as you did in the previous two and include a personal response.

Salary Page
A slide with a table that compares salaries for at least 10 different jobs/careers, including the two careers that you chose. Highlight the two careers you will be doing your further research on.

You must list findings for at least two careers!

A slide about the college/trade school that you researched for both careers.

  • School Name:

  • Degree/Major/Certificate:
  • Cost/year
  • Required Course: list the names of the courses as well as the units for at least the first two years, all four years if available. The required courses should be on a separate slide.

Evaluation:
Evaluate the results. Did you learn anything
What did you find out about possible careers?
Were the results of the quizzes accurate and helpful?

What is your career plan for the future? Where will you go to school? How long will it take? How much will it cost? How will you pay for your training/education?

How can you learn more about the careers in which you have an interest? \

What are your actual plans after high school right now? Be as specific as you can, provide as many details as you have figured out at this point.
