When drawing multiview drawings the spacing of your objects
in the drawing window now becomes an issue. All objects should be evenly
spaced in the drawing window so that the presentation of your drawing
looks professional. The drawings should also be aligned so the horizontal
baseline is the same for each view. To figure out where to space your
objects use the following formulas:
Space between Objects = (Total Space - Total Space taken
up by the objects)/# of objects + 1
This same formula is used for vertical spacing but the
Total Space is smaller. For the ProA titleblock the Total Horizontal
space = 10.25 inches. The Total Vertical Space = 7.00 inches.
Here is a sample calculation:
Total Space = 10.25 inches
Total Space of Objects = 2 inches wide + 2 inches wide = 4 inches total
taken up by the objects
Number of Objects = 2 plus 1
So the space between the objects will be 10.25 - (2 +
2)/3 = 2.08 The amount of space between each object should be 2.08 inches.
2 inches would probably be good enough. So your drawing would look something
like this:
space of 2 inches --- object
1 --- space of 2 inches --- object
2 --- space of 2 inches |
Vertical spacing would be calculated in the same manner
but with less space available.
Assume these same two objects were also two inches tall.
Here is the calculation for the vertical spacing:
Total Space = 7.00 inches
Total Space of Objects = 2 inches tall + 2 inches tall = 4 inches total
taken up by the objects
Number of Objects = 2 plus 1
So the space between the objects will be 7.00 - (2 +
2)/3 = The amount of space between each object should be 1.00 inches.
So your drawing would look something like this:
1 inch space
Top View
1 inch space
Front View
1 inch space

Once you have determined the spacing use the offset command
to create construction lines at the appropriate locations to place your
objects.
