Summer Internships

2011 MTC High School Summer Internship Program

Six Paid internships are available through out the County of San Mateo (Redwood City, San Carlos, San Bruno, Burlingame, and Brisbane). The pay rate is $10.00 per hour. Each internship will last up to a maximum of 250 hours. Students may work full-time or part-time, for up to 10 weeks, between June 23 and September 2, 2011.  Interested youth please contact me for an application or for more information. STUDENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Applicant must:

• Be a Jobs for Youth Participant, and
• Be high school sophomore, junior, or senior and
• Be at least 16 years of age before June 23. 

APPLICATION PROCESS

1. Contact Myrna Valderrama for application

2. Submit application and essay describing a transportation problem in your community. Explain

    what you think could be done to help resolve the problem.

3. Attach one letter of recommendation from either a teacher, principal, counselor, religious leader, or employer

   (two letters are required if GPA is below 2.8).
