Today is all about White Balance - what is it and why is it important.
Read through the How to Adjust your White Balance page and answer these questions.
1. If you look at pictures taken of the same subject but during different times of the day the color will look very different but if you were to look at these subjects with your eyes they would look the same to you. Why does the camera produce different images but when looking at the same subjects with your eyes they look the same? (Why is white balance needed?)
2. White balance can be used to control what?
3. What does AWB stand for on your camera? Why is this the most common setting?
4. List four lighting settings found on most cameras?
5. What is the light like on a cloudy day and what does this tend to do to your shots?
6. Describe Tungsten light. How does this setting compensate for this?
7. Jump down to Step #3, which of the four pond images looks the most realistic to you?
8. Based on step three if your image is too cool what setting can you use and what will this do?
9. Refer to step 5. How can you adjust a sunset photo to make it even better?
10. Here is another good article on White Balance. Find one interesting point from this article and summarize that point.
