Setting the Pace

Read through the Setting the Pace page and watch the first video. Answer these questions as your watch the video.

1. What changes were made in the chase scene to "liven" it up?

2. Why were the same fast cuts used in the chase not effective when applied to the romance scene?

3. In your own words describe pacing.

4. Watch the music video (the last video on this page). Describe the pace of this video. How is this pace achieved and what does it add to the video?

5. Describe when the cuts are made in the dance video, how important is the timing of the cuts?

6. How often are the cuts made? Time three or four clips and write down the number of seconds for each.
