Motion Effects Practice Video

Use the following instructional video to complete this exercise

Motion Effects in Final Cut Pro - Transform, Crop, Distort

Create a new project called Motion Effects Practice Video and drag in one or more clips to practice with. Wide shots will probably work best for this exercise. As you watch the instructional video complete the following:
1. Rescale and Reposition - use the transform tool to rescale and reposition the shot. One you have finished with these two tasks copy the clip and paste it behind the first clip. Move to the first clip and uncheck the Transform box in the property inspector to remove the changes you just made. This will provide the original clip followed by the modified clip. Label the first clip as Unchanged and the second clip as Rescaled and Repositioned.

2. Split Screen - stack up at least three clips and then use the transform and the trim tool to resize and reposition the clips to make a split screen that has at least three clips visible.

3. Crop - use the crop tool to reframe a shot. Copy the clip you just cropped so we can see the clip before and after the crop effect is added. Label the first shot Unchanged and the second clip Cropped.

4. Ken Burns Effect - copy a clip three times. On the first clip create a zoom in effect. In the second clip create a zoom out effect and in the last clip create a pan from left to right. Label the first clip, Zoom In, the second, Zoom Out and the third Pan.

5. Distort - choose one clip and distort the clip. Try adding keyframes so the clip starts out normal and is then distored as the clip plays. Label this clip Distort.

6. Almost done - add a title - Motion Effects Practice, closing credits and music and then submit to Google classroom. Count your clips, you should have nine clips and every clip should have a label.
