How can you create a dynamic video if all you are given are photos or static video shots? That is what you will do in this project. You will take pictures of the Sequoia campus and then turn those pictures into a movie providing a history of the campus.
1. Determine the best shots of the school - what are some of the iconic shots that come to mind when you think of Sequoia? The tower, the new A wing, the quad....
2. Take multiple pictures of each of these spots on the campus - remember these are pictures NOT video.
3. Record two static video shots (no camera movement - use a tripod) of some aspect of the school - make these wide shots, choose some iconic part of the campus for these two shots.
4. Find some historic shots of the campus and download those into a folder on your desktop. You will need at least three historic images.
5. Compose a short video using your images, the two videos and the historic images you downloaded. Apply the Ken Burns effect to make the video dynamic (should be movement in every shot). Apply the same effect to the two static video shots so they are now dynamic and no longer static.
6. Split Screen clip - create at least one split screen clip, this could be a contrast between the old and the new or simply a split screen of multiple iconic shots of the campus. Be creative
7. Find some historical information about Sequoia and create a script for your video. Match up your script with your video and then record your voice over using the voice recorders. Each students creates their own voiceover although you may use the same script. Upload your voice over recordings and add them to your video as well as appropriate music that plays throughout the video. Be sure the sound level of the music does not cover up the voiceover.
8. Add a title and closing credits.
