Your Turn - Color Correction Video Project
Before starting this project check out a camera and take a shot of:
1. An area of the school that includes lawn, trees and sky all in the same shot.
2. A shot of the old section of the school main building - the front of the campus would be a great shot for this one. Make sure this is a wide shot.
3. Take a third shot of the tea garden area, try a wide shot and then a full shot of the tea hut.
1. Download the color correction clip from Google Classroom and then upload it into a new event called color correction in FCP.
2. Create a new project called Color Correction and add these two clips.
3. Copy the two clips so you can have a comparison of the clip before color correction and after color correction.
4. For the first clip get rid of the washed out view of the clip and make it more lifelike.
5. For the second clip remove the blue tint so the shot looks natural and the subject is more lifelike.
6. Be sure to put the two clips side by side so an easy comparison can be made between the two clips. Place the first clip next to the color corrected clip and the same with the second clip.
7. Add a slide transition between the original clip and the color corrected clip.
8. Upload the three clips that you took at the beginning of this project.
Copy the clips so you have two of the same clip for all three.
9. On the second clip use a color mask to make the lawn in the shot a more vibrant green and then do the same for the sky, making the sky bluer than the original.
10. Color correct the building shot as well as the tea garden shot to make the colors stand out more.
11. Add a slide transition between the original clip and the color corrected clip.
