360 Shooting Tips

Here are some tips for shooting with the Theta S 360 Camera

  1. Mount the camera on a tripod. Make the footprint of the tripod as small as possible by moving the legs in but be sure the stand is still stable and won't tip over. Remove the handle if possible.
  2. Place the camera at eye level in the middle of the scene. Make sure the scene is interesting and rich.
  3. Direct the lenses so they pick up the most important parts of the scene, be aware of where the stitch line will be.
  4. Be sure the camera is level.
  5. Record the scene being sure to give the viewer enough time to take in the entire scene before any action starts. Better to record more than not enough.
  6. Remember that you will need to cut the beginning and end of the scene where you turn the camera on and off.
