The purpose of this activity is to demonstrate the type of analysis that should take place throughout this course as you learn about different technologies. As you answer these question be sure you are answering in complete sentences and thoughtful answers.
Read the Seeing is No Longer Believing news article. As you read through complete the following using the News Event handout as a guide.
1. List the IT terminology used in the article. If there are terms you do not understand you should look them up.
2. How did the IT development emerge? What changes have resulted from the movement from old photographic techniques to digital photography?
3. Who are the stakeholders—individuals, institutions,
societies who initiate and control the IT developments and
are affected by them?
4. What are the advantages and disadvantages for the
stakeholders? How are the stakeholders impacted?
5. What are the social impacts of the IT development on
human life? These may include some or all of the following
areas: economic, political, cultural, legal, environmental,
ergonomic, health and psychological.
6. What feasible solutions can be applied to overcome
problems that result from this technology?

As you begin to analyze news articles throughout the year you should be able to treat them in this same manner. The ITGS exams will be making use of specific scenarios to ask these very same questions.
