Tech Trends for 2018

Use your current understanding of technology trends to extrapolate changes in technology to make some predictions about the changes we will see in technology in 2018 and the next 5 years. Consider these areas:

• communications
• entertainment
• social networks
• computing
• other

1. Write down three predictions you would make and provide evidence that supports your predictions.

2. Share one of your predictions and supporting trends with your group. As each person in the group shares their ideas one person will use the Peer Coaching handout to record the speaking moves used during the discussion. Switch roles as you rotate sharing ideas. After the first round see what types of speaking moves you used most. Try to vary the speaking moves as you repeat the sharing process.

3. As a group come up with two to four predictions of what we can expect in 2018. Be prepared to share your predictions with the class giving your reasons for these predictions.
